The story of UMB began with THOROFON. Anton Knilpert and Genevieve Pasquier project stood in the artistic and musicial tradition of Throbbing Gristle and SPK, but soon developed an own easy-to-recognize style. Their prolific career in the international Post-Industrial scene began with “Maximum Punishment Solutions” (LP, Stateart) back in 1997 and the 7″ “Littleton”, succeded by several 7″es and the two full-time releases “Final Movement” (UMB001, 2001) and “New Heroes” (UMB003, 2005). The latter completing the conceptual “Supression – Revolution – Opression” trilogy of three studio albums THOROFON was created for.
In May 2010 they announced to return, their first live action have tacked place in Erlangen in December 2010 !
L’histoire du label UMB a débuté avec THOROFON. Le projet d’Anton Knilpert and Genevieve Pasquier est resté dans la tradition artistique et musicale de Throbbing Gristle and SPK, mais il a su développer rapidement son propre style. Leur carrière prolifique dans la scène industrielle internationale a commencé en 1997 avec “Maximum Punishment Solutions” (LP, Stateart) et 7″ “Littleton”, ont succédé divers 7″ et deux albums “Final Movement” (UMB001, 2001) et “New Heroes” (UMB003, 2005). Ce dernier album complète la trilogie de “Supression – Revolution – Opression”.
En mai 2010 ils ont annoncé leur retour, leur premier concert de cette résurrection a eu lieu en décembre à Erlanger.

These days of the ‘post-industrial’ time offer diverse views of the inheritance of bands like TG, SPK and others. Music, content and ambitions might have changed according to the perspectives. We can find a combination of yesterday and today in OBJEKT/URIAN.
They stroll down the old paths by building instruments by themselves as well as they use analogue technology. The result is a quite distinct sound yet it always reveals the nearness to Power-Electronics and Noise. The incredibly blurred and ugly aspect of social and political issues is almost foist on the listener with the aggressive vocals.
OBJEKT/URIAN’s performances are dynamic dismantlements of society’s deceiving illusion of an ideal world. Along with analogue synthesizers, home-made sound emitting objects and aggressive vocals they provide the sonic framework of an angry impeachment, that is performed with lots of sweat and sometimes even blood.
Ces jours «post-industriels» offrent des vues différentes de l’héritage de groupes tels que TG, SPK et d’autres. La musique, le contenu et les ambitions peuvent avoir changé en fonction des perspectives. Nous pouvons trouver une combinaison d’hier et d’aujourd’hui dans OBJEKT / URIAN.
Ils se promènent dans les sentiers anciens en construisant eux mêmes leurs instruments ainsi qu’en utilisant la technologie analogique. Le résultat est un son tout à fait unique, mais qui révèle toujours la proximité du Power-Electronics et Noise. L’aspect hideux des questions sociales et politiques est presque imposer à l’auditeur avec le chant agressif.
Les performances d’OBJEKT /URIAN sont des démantèlements de l’illusion trompeuse de la société d’un monde idéal. Avec des synthétiseurs analogiques, des objets sonores fait maison et un chant agressif, ils fournissent le cadre d’une procédure de mise en accusation, qui est exécutée avec beaucoup de sueur et parfois même du sang.
